New Intellectual Property Innovations Partnership
Park Place Research and Helion Intellectual Property create new intellectual property innovations partnership.
UK pharmaceutical process research and development specialist Park Place Research and UK intellectual property experts Helion IP have created a new service for maximizing the value of the work created for our clients and partners.
In order to obtain valuable protection for the intellectual property created at Park Place Research, we have partnered with Helion IP to provide strategic, commercially oriented, patent advice, in order to maximise the benefit of our work on behalf of our customers.
Dr Terry Swarbrick, Director of Helion IP, a Chartered UK and European Patent Attorney with a strong chemistry background, which included several years’ industrial research in the pharmaceutical industry says:. “Helion IP professionals have drafted and prosecuted patent applications worldwide covering a wide variety of chemistry-related inventions, including high value products in the pharmaceutical and agrochemical fields. Of particular value to Park Place Research is experience of patenting new chemical entities, manufacturing processes, polymorphs and formulation technologies”.
Park Place Research has initiated a strategy to enhance and develop cutting edge chemical and bioprocess research and development capabilities and Intellectual Property is a fundamental aspect of our activities, which include contract research activities, partnerships, alliances and collaborations.
A key part of the collaborative vision is the ability to obtain protection for new innovations. Helion IP can assist in the equally important task of ensuring freedom to operate (FTO). Companies need to be proactive in identifying and assessing the risk posed by the existence of third party patents in the areas in which they operate and expert advice is essential for dealing with any potential issues at an early stage. Dr Aled Finniear, CEO of Park Place Research says: “we are delighted to be working with Helion IP who have exceptional experience in Intellectual Property issues. Intellectual Property and Freedom to Operate activities form the cornerstone of the research and development activities at Park Place Research.”
